What do you say about some one who’s been on air for 15 years, at a station that’s been ranked in the top 10 for nearly double that length of time? So much that a single bio on Detroit’s Kim "The Spin Doctor" James may not have enough space to cover it all.

Let's see... he’s mix show coordinator for both WJLB and WMXD. He’s the man behind the “High Noon Hot Mix” and WMXD’s “Drive At 5’ Mix Show”. He’s been nationally recognized by Mix Show Power Summit, The Technicians, Core DJs and other various national radio / DJ organizations. Right now he unofficially holds a city record as longest running club night DJ with his run as official DJ for Old School Sundays which has been going strong for over 10 years now. Live each week broadcasted on FM98 WJLB you can take a listen on line (www.fm98wjlb.com) if you don’t live in the city from 8pm to 2am each week.

So let's run it down... as of late the city’s premier tastemaker launched “The 7 Deadly Technics” in 2000. A group of mixers to set the tone of what a radio mixer and a party club jock should be all working at WJLB FM 98. Consisting of DJs G Raw, Polo, Fingers, Steadyrock, Blast, and Don Q, the collective has done just that. With that duty secure he moved forward with aspiring goals of one day becoming a top market Radio Program Director and has since been named Assistant Programming Director for the New Sister Station to FM 98 WJLB, FM 98 WJLB HD (just one click away on your radio dial, but in order to get the station a HD receiver is necessary).

Adding to those titles he is also Mix Show Coordinator for FM 98, and Special Events Coordinator for WJLB/WMXD. As of this year Kim was approached by famed bottling company “Pepsi” to become one of 6 nationally recognized DJ’s as a part of the New Pepsi DJ Division. A group comprised of guys from 6 different regions, they hold the title of  #1 taste maker in their individual areas. You can catch the guys in print ads running in national publications as well as on the web by visiting www.pepsi.com.

With all these accomplishments and being an all around good guy, as he calls himself, Kim James is venturing into other business affairs, as anyone with a sense of business savvy should. Recently unleashing his own marketing company on the world Millennium Marketing is quickly rising as one of the city’s premiere companies in the entertainment world. With clients that include Universal Music Group and Martell/Seagram’s, things are surely looking up for this promising entrepreneur /mixer.
